From Gustav Schröder's carpentry workshop to kitchens delivered in more than 20 countries, three generations of one family have shaped a craft. Today, it has arrived in Quebec.
The Founding
Gustav Schröder founds the family business in Bünde, Westphalia. In a small multi-storey workshop, kitchen buffets are built piece by piece. The rigour of the craft, from the very start.
The Second Generation
Hermann Schröder takes over his uncle's business and makes it one of the pioneers of the fitted kitchen. To expand production, the factory moves to Kirchlengern, in the heart of Europe's largest kitchen-manufacturing region.
Custom Work at Scale
The first integrated Schröder kitchens leave the workshop. The course is set: artisanal custom work meets serial production, without ever compromising on quality.
The Growth Years
The production site grows phase by phase and a first permanent showroom opens its doors. Schröder Küchen evolves from a regional workshop into an exporting manufacturer, without ever leaving its village or its family name.
The Third Generation
Kerstin Kröhnert, Hermann's daughter, leads the family business with resolutely contemporary ideas. Across 236,800 sq ft of workshops, precision industrial manufacturing works alongside handcraft, kitchens are delivered to more than 20 countries - and the fourth generation is already preparing to take over.
The New Chapter
The Korvell Group brings this craftsmanship to Quebec under the Maison Schröder name. Design and guidance in Montreal, manufacturing in Germany, installation by our sister company Korvell Rénovation inc.
One Hundred Years Later
Three generations of one family, and the same way of keeping their word. You don't sign a logo, you sign a name.
Every cabinet, every hinge, every finish meets a standard of craftsmanship handed down through generations of cabinetmakers.
Where catalogues stop, the workshop continues. Dimensions, finishes, layouts: the kitchen adapts to the room, never the other way around.
